Law School Surpasses Campbell Giving Day Challenge Goals

In a thank you letter to donors who participated in the University's annual Giving Day earlier this month, Dean J. Rich Leonard wrote: "I am overwhelmed by the response of our Campbell Law community for this year’s Campbell Giving Day. We saw multiple levels of engagement from alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of the law school, which led to one incredible day for the law school and university as a whole. As a result of your generosity, we were able to unlock bonus gifts of $5,000, $7,500 and $10,000 awarded to us from John McCabe ’94 and Rebecca McCabe. This year’s number of gifts -- nearly 160 -- to the law school nearly doubled the amount received on Campbell Giving Day last year. The law school was the clear winner of the university’s School Participation Challenge. Congratulations to the Class of 1983 for winning the Campbell Law Alumni Association Competition and to the National Security Military Law Student Association for winning the Student Organization Competition."

To qualify, applicants must have been admitted to practice in a state’s highest court for at least three years, and be in good standing, explained Assistant Dean of External Relations Megan West Sherron, who organized the Supreme Court bar admission trip that was sponsored by the Campbell Law Alumni Association. Dean J. Rich Leonard, a former federal bankruptcy judge, accompanied the contingent to Washington, D.C., Todd Jones ‘98, owner of Anderson Jones PLLC, served as movant for the group. The newly admitted bar members were allowed to attend as the Supreme Court heard arguments in two matters. Learn more at this link.
