Main Characters

Ruby: the main character struggling to survive in the book

Simon: the step dad that Ruby originally didn't like but after they got stuck with each other, it was Simon's job to make her mother proud and take care of her.

Rebecca: the mother of Ruby. She was very sweet and cared about Ruby. She didn't last very long due to how kind she was.

Henry: the baby Simon and Rebecca had together. Also, did not last very long in the book, but Ruby truly loved him. He was one years old before the incident occurred.

Dan: the half brother (on the dad's side) of Ruby.

Leonie: the best friend of Ruby. She was with Ruby in the beginning of the book, trying to get Casper and Ruby together.

Casper: the love interest of Ruby. After there was almost no hope, Ruby hoped that Casper would be alive the most. She was in love with him.

Saskia: the brat of the group. She was the girl in the school that was gorgeous and everyone wanted to be with her. Ruby was never truly a fan of her.

Zak: the friend with the cool parents. His parents let him and his friends do anything they wanted to. His house was the hang out place.

Summary

Ruby was at Zak's house partying with Casper, Leonie, and Saskia when Zak's parents rushed the kids in the house. They turn on the radio to hear that the rain was dangerous and to stay inside. Casper left his phone in the garage where so he ran outside to get it. The rain touched him, and he came inside with his skin bleeding and his basically ripping the rest of his skin off. Zak's mom (Rebecca) brought Ruby safely home and Casper to the hospital. The supplies were low and with the incident that occurred with her mother, and her step dad Simon, she has to find her dad in the killer rain.

My Favorite Part

My favorite part of the book was when Ruby and Simon started getting along. They never really cared for each other in the beginning of the book. As the story progressed, Simon started taking care of Ruby like she was his daughter.

What I liked

The author really builds up the characters to the point where you feel like you physically know them. They seem like a friend to you. The author then breaks your heart by having something bad happen to them. The build up for all the characters leaves your emotions riding a roller coaster.

What i Disliked

Ruby (tends to) put things in (random parenthesis) the entire book (which can get very annoying) to read.
