8 000 000 Ukrainians Have Become Internally Displaced
270 territorial communities from 8 regions of Ukraine - Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia - have become dangerous for 8 million Ukrainians due to the war since its outbreak.
270 territorial communities from 8 regions of Ukraine - Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia - have become dangerous for 8 million Ukrainians due to the war since its outbreak.
People were forced to flee their homes and their usual lives, leaving with documents and sometimes with one bag only in their hands, and some of them without means of existence, as they were fleeing from their bombed-out home towns under shelling.
Internally displaced people live mainly in Western part of Ukraine, where they need constant financial aid and moral support until they get used to the new conditions and can find work.
It is sad, but in these 8 regions, which have become war zones and temporarily occupied territories, there are still people in need of humanitarian aid. Especially these are elderly and lonely people, low-income families with children, and people with disabilities.
Activities of the Christ is the Answer Ministries in June 2022
The team of the Christ is the Answer missionaries serves to TDPs and people in need in Luhansk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Zakarpattia regions.
In June, the missionaries went twice to the Donbas with humanitarian aid and evacuated 21 people from there.
About 900 food packages were distributed in all regions of the country within outreach events and visits.
In total, in June CITA missionaries held 270 different meetings, clubs, one-on-one conversations, visited more than 95 families and people, distributed more than 98,000 evangelistic newspapers and conducted more than 70 outreach events, including charity eye clinics.
CITA ministers to temporarily displaced people
Children’s Day
Celebrations for IDP children were held in Rivne, Ternopil, Chernivtsi. Young guests had trampolines and cotton candies, popcorn, fun relay races and inflatable slides, quizzes and tea parties. Every child learned about God's love. Read details.
Eye clinics
Charity events with a doctor's consultation and distribution of glasses were held in Rivne and New Odesa (Mykolaiv region). During the eye clinics, attendees were able to hear the Gospel.
"Superbook" has opened a ministry in Chernivtsi
CITA missionaries in Chernivtsi have been serving displaced children from Eastern regions for two months now, and in June they opened the “Superbook” club, which makes it possible to communicate more closely with children:
“We cannot get to know the children at one time, how they live, which cities they left, but at each meeting we get to know them better. Some children from the city of Rubizhne, Luhansk region. And one girl (they are from Raihorodok, Donetsk region) has her father in hospital now: a fragment hit his back and he is undergoing treatment.
At this event, as never before, the children were hugging us, did not want to leave us, were asking us to dance with them again. They are very happy when we visit them,” said Yanina Ivanova, a missionary from the Luhansk region.
Camp in the Carpathians
CITA missionaries from Rivne gathered more than 50 people for a holiday in the Carpathians. Most of them are IDPs from Luhansk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhia regions.
During the week the missionaries ministered to such people and helped them to recover psychologically.
A New Edition of Evangelistic Newspaper Printed
130 thousand copies of the newspaper "Christ is the Answer" were released in June. Newspapers are distributed on the streets, in hospitals, prisons, at charity eye clinics and other outreach events, put in food packages. The missionaries shared how this outreach tool works. Read details.
