Lone Mountain Families,

It is conference week and I am excited for our families to see the progress that our students have made so far this year. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you need to still set up a time to conference or reschedule your current conference.

Due to conferences our schedule is different this week. Please make note of our dismissal time changes.

  • Tuesday- 3:30 PM- normal day
  • Wednesday- 2:00 PM- early release day
  • Thursday - 12:30 PM - half day for conferences
  • Friday 12:30 PM- half day for conferences

Next week is our district Fall Break and there is no school for students or staff. Please take time to be with your family and hopefully cooler temperatures will be headed our way soon. I wish you all a wonderful week and if there is anything that I may do for you or your child please do not hesitate to contact me.

Respectfully, Emily Hill

ONE TEAM AWARD WINNER FOR SEPTEMBER

Congratulations to Trish Doran, our ELA sixth grade teacher, for being our One Team Award winner for the month of September. Mrs. Doran always puts students needs first and is a true team player. We are lucky to have her here at LMES. Congratulations Mrs. D!

"SOAR" EXPECTATIONS AT LONE MOUNTAIN

This year we continue with our positive behavior interventions and "SOAR" expectations for students to follow in the classroom and around campus. The acronym SOAR stands for Safety, Ownership for your actions/words, Attitude, and Respect. These are character traits that we talk about daily within the classrooms and around campus. When these specific traits are shown staff members can give each student a SOAR card that they label with their name and then drop into a raffle for a monthly prize drawing.

Each week we also celebrate student behavior success with our Eagle Awards. Students are nominated weekly by their teachers and celebrated with an award of recognition.

BIRTHDAY BOOK CLUB AT LONE MOUNTAIN

Birthday Book Club (BBC) is one of the most exciting days in the library for students! LMES celebrates every student’s birthday in our library. This program is designed to engage students in the joy of reading by allowing them to choose books for the library, support the growth of our library, and to celebrate every student's birthday throughout the year.

Please click on the attached links to celebrate our July, August, and September birthdays. Our celebration will be this Wednesday, September 28th. There is also a flyer with QR codes as well.

LEARNING AT LMES

From the classroom to the playground, learning at Lone Mountain is always fun! Last week students learned about matter and density in STEAM, branches of government in fourth grade, celebrated Fall in second grade, and met up with Smokey the Bear to learn about our national and state parks. Students also worked on strengthening our fine motor skills in Kindergarten, explored how to make marbled paper, and of course read books all week long. Whether reading with a stuffed animal and flashlight, or with friend we know that reading often and a variety of genres is the key to learning more.
