K’in Ensemble is a 15-piece Fusion collective of Classical, Pop and Jazz musicians based in Manchester, UK. Their music is influenced by the rhythms and musical inflections of non-Western genres such as Flamenco, Afro Beat, Latin American and Middle Eastern music.
The group formed at the start of 2022 at the Royal Northern College of Music. As the word Kin would suggest, the band aims to celebrate their players’ diversity through cultural and musical unity.
In April 2022, the ensemble made their debut at the RNCM Opera Theatre, having been granted a place on 'Lab Week' (a mentored week of rehearsing their musical concept, culminating in a performance). They have also been awarded a place on Manchester Jazz Festival's 'Originals' Programme 2022.
K'in Ensemble's sound is exciting, vibrant, and incorporates a wide range of instruments and voices. Each piece is a journey through multiple grooves, soundscapes and textures.
Due to the group's range of ethnicities, musical influences and collaboration, their musical output is extremely varied and diverse. They are currently working on Jazz/Flamenco, Folk-Fusion, Mediterranean Fusion and Hispanic-Iberan repertoire.
