Midland, MI - March 13, 2023 - The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation announces the appointment of Ivy Braden as Grants Administrator. Braden is a proud two-time alumnus of Saginaw Valley State University and has enjoyed making the Great Lakes Bay region her new home. Previously, she worked as the Investor Relations Specialist at Saginaw Future, Inc. and as the Manager of Alumni Engagement at SVSU.
Braden will be succeeding Carrie Nielsen who joined The Foundation in 2008 as Administrative Assistant before being promoted to Grants Administrator in 2017. Nielsen and her husband, Kyle, will be making their longtime dream of relocating to the Upper Peninsula (UP) a reality.
Braden will work closely with the Board President and Executive Director to review grant applications and ensure accurate reporting and due diligence is performed throughout the life of each grant awarded.
The Foundation was established by Grace A. Dow in 1936 in memory of her husband, Dr. Herbert H. Dow, founder of The Dow Chemical Company. The Trust Agreement specifies that the income of the trust is to be used "for religious, charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes for the public benefaction of the inhabitants of the said City of Midland and of the people of the State of Michigan."
