Lone Mountain Families,
We had a very busy and fun week last week as we celebrated Read Across America, our Step It Up Fundraiser, and lots of learning in the classroom. As we get ready for spring conferences please make sure that you have either contacted your child's teacher for a time to conference or have marked your calendar for student led conferences where your child can share all of the wonderful progress they have made this year.
As a general reminder, any transportation changes for dismissal need to be communicated by 2:45 PM each day to the front office. It is very difficult for our front office staff to have families calling with last minute changes and make sure that we get these communicated to both students and staff. Our goal here at LMES is to make sure that students and staff feel secure in knowing how they will be going home. Therefore to ensure this happens we ask that all dismissal needs are communicated prior to 2:45 PM. Thank you for your help with this.

LIBRARY READING CHALLENGE
Greetings from the Library and Mrs. Hensley!
Last week in the library, we kicked off our very own reading challenge - Read Across Arizona! Each week we have a video reading from a new location in Arizona and we will raffle off coordinating prizes for each location. Last week the reading was from Flagstaff and we raffled off two family admission passes to Bearizona.
We are encouraging students to take a book with them to new and fun places and Read Across Arizona in as many locations as possible throughout the month (the park, the backyard, in and out, etc.)
I have attached copies of the map passports so that you can see what each student received to keep track of their reading locations. These will be kept in the library and sent home Friday, April 8th.
Please help encourage your child to Read Across Arizona. You can email me any pictures of your child reading in fun locations and I will display them in the library. My email is chensley@ccusd93.net.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR 3/11- 3/17/22
Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming to LMES March 11-17th! Students will have the opportunity to visit the book fair twice with their class during the week. The book fair will also be open for parents to shop after school on March 15th from 3:30-6:00 p.m.

READ ACROSS AMERICA PHOTOS
We had so much fun last week as we celebrated reading. From our spirit day dress ups, to Dr. Seuss themed literacy activities, and finally our guest readers in the classrooms. Thank you for making reading an important part of our student's lives and participating in these events.
STEP IT UP FUNDRAISER- DAY OF AWESOME
Our Day of Awesome with inflatables and prizes was last week and the students had so much fun celebrating our fundraiser success. Thank you to our PTO and families for supporting our school with this fundraiser. We raised over 27,000 for the school which will help fund our library aide and make some much needed repairs to our playground turf.
EAGLE AWARD WINNERS
This year we are celebrating students who demonstrate our SOAR ( safety, open-mindedness, A+ attitude, respect) expectations around campus. Staff are able to nominate students weekly who exemplify strong character and academic excellence. Students who are nominated will receive a certificate honoring this accomplishment as well as a prize. Congratulations to the winners from last week who received a gift certificate from Cherry on Top. Join me in congratulating Bradley, Finley, Mason, Kace, Tucker, and Emily. Way to go Eagles!
2022-23 KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
If you have an incoming Kindergartener please register them as soon as possible for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. Please also mark your calendars for March 15th from 4-5 PM for a STEAM centered activity.
SPRING CROSS COUNTRY AT LMES
Interested in joining cross country this spring? Although there is not a district meet at the end of this season, joining cross country is a great opportunity to meet new friends and exercise. If you are interested please complete and return the form by March 18th. Practices will start after spring break.

With our annual online auction fast approaching our PTO is looking for your help. If you personally have anything to donate to our school auction or know someone who does, please reach out. We have had items in the past from season tickets to a sporting event, gift cards to restaurants, jewelry, gym memberships etc... No item is too big or too small. Attached is an "ask letter" given to companies for tax purposes. This should be the only information needed to collect donations.
