In the October of this academic year, we launched the Flourishing at Falconer's project. All of the children were given a scrapbook to record their achievements. In every year group there are 15 different activities to complete which were designed to enhance the children's personal development. Children were told that they didn't need to complete them all straight away, but had the rest of the school year to work on them. Some of the tasks do require adult supervision, so we thank you for your support!
On Friday 17th March, a group of children walked to Kuni's Coffee and Comics, Daventry. This wonderful reward was arranged to celebrate the hard work and dedication that the children demonstrated in their Flourishing at Falconer's scrapbooks so far. Everyone had a hot-chocolate or juice and a biscuit. Thank you to all of the children who attended; you have made us all incredibly proud.

What is Flourishing at Falconers?
Flourishing at Falconer's is a project for all children at our school. As mentioned above, every child has been given a scrapbook and a set of 15 tasks to complete at home. The activities have been chosen to support the children's independence, resilience and personal development.
What is Personal Development?
Personal development focuses on progressing children's wider development; it is not about traditional, academic school subjects. As a school, we aim to enhance children's personal development in many ways. This occurs through: weekly PSHE lessons, regular assemblies, enrichment opportunities such as trips and extra-curricular clubs. In our school there are also opportunities to be part of the Pupil Leadership Team, School Council, Eco-team and Wellbeing Champions to name just a few. Personal development aims to enhance children's resilience, confidence and independence. It helps children to discover their interests, talents and hobbies and helps them to prepare for the future and contribute positively to society. The "Flourishing at Falconers" project sets out to give children another opportunity to expand their personal development.
Examples
Here are some examples of the children's work. I'm sure you'll agree that they've found some really creative ways to demonstrate how they've achieved the various steps.
How can your child get involved?
Ask your child where their Flourishing at Falconer's scrapbook is. Have they already completed any of the tasks? If not, don't worry, they have got until the end of this school year to complete the activities in their book. If your child has lost their book, please encourage them to have a good look at home and at school before we give them a replacement.
We will ask for the books to be handed in before the end of the school year and a new celebration will be arranged. We look forward to seeing how your children achieve their Flourishing at Falconer's challenges.
