Dr. Saugher Nojan Sociologist. Educator. Community-Engaged Researcher.

Greetings and welcome! I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Asian American Studies at San Jose State University in the Department of Sociology & Interdisciplinary Social Sciences.

I earned my Ph.D. in Sociology with an emphasis in Critical Race and Ethnic Studies and Education from the University of California, Santa Cruz (2021).

My research examines how societal inequities are formed and sustained in relation to racial formations, religion, immigration, civic and political participation, and education.
