Our Story

1997

Most Teen Moms Live in Poverty

It was shocking to discover that 67% of teen moms live below the poverty line - and even more shocking to discover how many are actually homeless or living in an abusive situation.

1997

No One Would Provide a Place

There simply wasn’t a place for homeless teen moms and their children. Most group homes are maternity homes, and shelters typically only take adult women. It was hard to believe that NO ONE would provide a place for these girls.

2003

The Residential House Opens

Hope House first addressed the issue of homelessness and opened the Residential Program in Arvada in 2003, providing a self-sufficiency program as well as a stable home for teen moms to strive for self-sufficiency and to understand their significance in God’s sight, resulting in a healthy future for them and their children.

2003

Located in Arvada, Colorado, this house was built with amazing support and a series of miracles – it is truly the house that God built!

2007

150 Crisis Calls Every Year

Demand for services for teen moms continued to increase every year, with Hope House staff receiving approximately 150 crisis calls annually from teen moms and service providers.

2007

GED Program

In response to an increase in crisis calls, Hope House launched its GED program in 2007.

2013

The Resource Center Opens

In 2013 Hope House moved all of its programs to its temporary (rented) Resource Center, located in Westminster. This move allowed the Residential Program to house additional teen moms and children.

2017

New Resource Center Groundbreaking

In 2017 Hope House broke ground on a new 15,000-square-foot Resource Center, adjacent to the Residential Program house in Arvada, CO.

2019

Hope House Moves to New Building

In August of 2019 Hope House packed up and moved into the newly built Resource Center. Staff can now serve three times more teen moms!

2020
