Art of Cool Fest Jewell & CognitO of FROLAb's RECAP of a great weekend of music & friends in durhAm
For the third year in a row, an incredible lineup of soul and jazz musicians brought the vibes to Durham for 2016's The Art of Cool Fest. Here are a few of our favorite moments and captures...

Friday was the first official night of the festival and it had a stacked lineup! It was hard to choose but our night went like this-
After picking up our wristbands in the uber chic The Durham Hotel- first stop, PSI Theatre for the Revive Music Stage with Marcus Strickland's Twi-life

Next - straight to The Armory for Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals! His latest projects Venice and Malibu and collab EP with Knxwledge are 🔥🔥🔥! He's stayed on the speakers the last few months so we were hype to see him live.
Jewell Green Design managed the festival's branding and designed the merch again this year - featuring a typographic design similar to the first years Frolaboration "Carolina Soul" design, highlighting the headliners and Art of Cool Fest.
Next we walked to Motorco to see even more friends who we're fans of, Rich Medina, DJ Maseo, and Pete Rock do their DJ Masterclass aka "the Art of Turntables."

Maseo blessed the crowd with a perfect Phife tribute. #RIPPHIFE
And then we went back to The Armory to close our night out with Kamasi Washington.
Of course we had to do a few fro-spottings between shows!
And a few just because downtown Durham street portraits...
Day 2 started with Innovate Your Cool innovation conference which we unfortunately missed again this year 😡. Note to stay in Durham over the weekend so the commute doesn't stop the flow... but we did find our way to True Flavors for that extra official brunch!

True Flavors. If u don't know, now you know.

For night 2, first stop was again the Revive stage for Derrick Hodge
Then we slid over to Pinhook for soul crooner Donnie
Next stop: Carolina Theatre for The Internet! We saw some of the Jamla squad on our way in...
Kash & 9th Wonder
Khrysis
Rapsody
And spotted some fros...
And danced to The Internet!

Then back to Pinhook for more LA Fam J*davey who rocked it!

Then we strolled back to Motorco for the final act Thundercat.
