The ITA Assistant Coach of the Year honors an assistant coach who has exhibited outstanding leadership in ways that contribute to on and off-court team performance.
In his first season with the Tyler Junior College men's tennis team, Luc Godin stepped up immediately to lead the Apaches. At the beginning of the spring season, Godin led the team practices. Under Godin's guidance, the Apaches finished with an undefeated record and won their third consecutive NJCAA Division I National Championship.
A Note from Tyler Junior College Athletic Director, Kevin Vest
We are excited to congratulate Luc on this amazing honor. When it comes to the ability to help student-athletes navigate their college experience, as an athlete and a student, there is no one more qualified than a person like Luc who has walked in their shoes.
Luc has been an integral part of our program’s success for several years, as a student, an assistant coach and a dedicated alumnus. He continues to move our program forward and his commitment to the success of our student-athletes is unparalleled. We are extremely fortunate to have somebody with his coaching pedigree involved in our program. Apache Nation congratulates Luc and continues to be grateful for his service.
