'Celebrity Chefs' Scarecrow Competition for local school children sponsored by Waitrose

The six scarecrows - James Martin, Mary Berry, Gordon Ramsay, Delia Smith, Jamie Oliver and Nigella Lawson - were magnificent but the 'James Martin' scarecrow won the public vote on the day.

Art and crafts demonstration

Staff from Colemans Craft Warehouse demonstrated how to make beautiful greetings cards.

Tray Garden Competition

Children from local primary schools - ages 3-7 and ages 8-10 - created fabulous entries for the Tray Garden Competition sponsored by Colemans.

Art Competition

Students from The Ferrers School entered the Art Competition sponsored by Colemans. Max Hindmarsh won the Year 10 section and Emma Avery got first prize in Years 7 and 8.

To end the day ...

The Mayor of Higham Ferrers, accompanied by the May Queen and her attendants, presented the certificates and prizes to the competition winners and drew the tickets for the winners of the raffle.
