We proudly announce a Metro Louisville Government grant, enabling us to offer a groundbreaking opportunity—the Digital Literacy Train the Trainer program. This online initiative provides free training for community trainers and learners seeking to enhance their digital skills in virtual collaboration tools, conversational AI, data analytics, and form data collection. The program empowers individuals to elevate their digital literacy and equips them with the tools to train others.
Whether you're embarking on a career change, pursuing a promotion, or seeking personal growth, our course is tailored to help you achieve your aspirations while earning $500.
With guidance from expert instructors, peer feedback, and the opportunity to earn valuable micro-credentials, our program ensures a dynamic and interactive learning experience. As we strive to create a digitally competent community across all 26 Metro Louisville Districts, the DTC's Digital Literacy Train the Trainer program is positioned to upskill 100+ community trainers across all 26 districts.
Our comprehensive curriculum focuses on the following digital skills:
- Virtual Collaboration Tools (Microsoft Teams)
- Conversational Artificial Intelligence (Chat GPT)
- Forms Data Collection (Microsoft Forms)
- Data Analytics (Microsoft Power BI)
By providing a solid foundation in these areas, the community trainers will enhance their expertise and develop the skills to transfer this knowledge effectively to other community learners. Program Overview
- 100 community trainers chosen from Louisville Metro (all 26 districts)
- Eight-week program, either in-person or online
- Upskill digital literacy and train the trainer events
- Trainers train 10 passionate community learners
- Earn $500, at least four micro-credentials, and a University of Louisville certificate of training upon successful completion of the program
During this program, you will:
- Learn how to use Digital Transformation Center resources
- Earn four or more badge micro-credentials from Microsoft Learn
- Develop training materials on one or more of the digital topics
- Train community learners on the chosen topic
Applications will be reviewed and an acceptance notification will be sent via e-mail.
What will you earn?
- Digital Literacy and Training skills

- University of Louisville Certificate of training
- $500* stipend upon the development of training materials, earning at least four micro-credentials and successfully training ten or more community learners

How will you be trained?
The Learning Management system portal contains various modes of information such as text, documents, and videos designed to guide you through your training journey. All content completed can be found on the Digital Transformation Center’s website.
Each digital topic will have content in the form of an instructional video, homework exercises, hands-on exercises that will be explored in labs, supporting documentation, and an online pathway to complete.
Requirements
- Reside in Jefferson County
- Have a GED or High School Diploma
- A commitment to improve your digital skills and train people in Jefferson County
- Have access to a computer and an internet connection
- Able and willing to provide your W-9 form, bank account for direct deposit and SSN for stipend
No specific technical skills required - All levels are welcome!

Microsoft Teams is the ultimate messaging app for your organization—a workspace for real-time collaboration and communication, meetings, file and app sharing, and even the occasional emoji! All in one place, all in the open, all accessible to everyone.
Microsoft Forms
Microsoft Forms is a web-based survey and form-building tool developed by Microsoft. It enables users to create customized surveys, quizzes, and polls with a user-friendly interface. Users can easily share their forms with others and collect responses in real time. The data collected can be analyzed through built-in analytics tools, providing valuable insights for decision-making.
Conversational Artificial Intelligence
According to Chat GPT, “AI offers numerous benefits, including automation of repetitive tasks, improved efficiency, enhanced decision-making through data analysis, personalized user experiences, and the potential for innovation across diverse industries, ultimately leading to increased productivity and technological advancements.”
Data Analytics – Power BI
Data analytics is the collection, transformation, and organization of data to draw conclusions, make predictions, and drive informed decision-making. (https://www.coursera.org/articles/data-analytics)
Power BI is a versatile tool for preparing, modeling, visualizing, analyzing, and managing data. In Digital Literacy Train the Trainer, you will learn what data analytics is and its importance, how to import, clean, and shape data, and how to create visuals and dashboards that demonstrate the organization's needs.
