Evolution of Cockroaches: Cockroach fossils have been discovered that can date back 320 million years. It has been noted that cockroaches have maintained a very similar image/body figure throughout all these years.

Phylogeny:

Cockroaches are one of the most common cockroach species found in households. cockroaches undergo three distinct life phases: egg, nymph and adult. Their entire life cycle spans approximately 100 days, although this is dependent on factors such as temperature, diet and injuries.

Cockroaches also play an important role in nutrient recycling. Most species of cockroach are detritus feeders and with the help of endogenous cellulases play an important role in degrading plant material.
