extending the streak

Carter-Finley Stadium has always been known as a difficult place to play, but that reputation has really been solidified over the past three seasons.

NC State now has a 13-game winning streak at Carter-Finley Stadium. That’s the fifth-best active home winning streak in the FBS and is the second-longest in the history of Carter-Finley Stadium (which opened in 1966).

NC State has opened 3-0 at home in 2022, posted a 7-0 mark in games played in Carter-Finley in 2021 and has not lost a home game since Nov. 6, 2020. The 2021 Wolfpack was the first squad since 1986 (35 years) to go undefeated at home (and that squad did post one tie) and one of just six teams in school history (1967, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1986) to post an unblemished record at Carter-Finley Stadium.

During the 13-game streak, the Wolfpack has outscored its opponent 34.8-14.9 (453-194) at home.

trying for the trifecta

NC State has won four of the last five meetings with Florida State - winning 27-21 in Tallahassee in 2017, 47-28 at home in 2018, 38-22 at home in 2020 and 28-14 last season on the road. The Wolfpack fell 13-31 in 2019 in Tallahassee.

Although the Pack has gotten the W in the last two outings vs. the 'Noles, in 42 games between the two schools has never won three in a row.

The Wolfpack won 28-14 in Tallahassee last season.

The Wolfpack has won two in a row five times (65-67, 01-02, 05-06, 17-18).

nole longer

Starting nose tackle Cory Durden will be facing the Seminoles for the second time, but will be on the game field with FSU in a football game for the 34th time. Starting strong safety Cyrus Fagan will be playing his first game against FSU (he was hurt last season), but played in 30 games during his FSU career.

Cory Durden stood on the opponent sideline at Doak Campbell Stadium for the first time in 2021.

Durden played in 32 games, starting 16, for FSU from 2018-20. He played in seven games in 2020 before opting out of the remainder of the season while recovering from COVID and a shoulder injury. He started 12 of the 13 games he played in during the 2019 campaign.

Fagan played in 30 games, starting five, over four seasons at FSU, and ironically, one of his best games came against NC State in 2019.

In that FSU win in Tallahassee, he posted a career-best 10 tackles, a fumble recovery and a pass breakup, earning ACC Defensive Back of the Week. He also had a crucial fourth quarter interception that led to FSU rallying for a win over Louisville.

WELCOME TO THE END ZONE

Six different Wolfpack players have scored their first career touchdowns this season.

Demi Sumo-Karngbaye has four total TDs to lead the team, even though this is his first year scoring. Other first-timers include: WR Keyon Lesane, WR Porter Rooks, WR Jalen Coit, TE Cedd Seabrough, and RB Delbert Mimms.

Jalen Coit, Porter Rooks, Keyon Lesane and Delbert Mimms are four of the six players who have scored their first career TDs in 2022.

KNOCKIN' DOWN 40'S

Only 18 kickers in the FBS have connected on all of their field goal attempts, and the Wolfpack’s Christopher Dunn is one of them. Dunn - the school’s all-time leading scorer - has connected on all seven of his attempts this season.

Five of his seven makes have been for 40+ yards. That ties as the most 40+ yard attempts he’s ever had in a single season and his five makes from that distance is a career-high for a season.

Connecting on consecutive field goals is nothing new for Dunn. He boasts the second (19) and third (14) longest streak of consecutive makes in school history.
