Principal's Message

Lake Pleasant Families,

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! This week, our students worked hard, and our teachers prepared neat learning experiences! If you get a moment, please thank your child’s teacher for the hard work and dedication to their students growth. As a staff, we have been having some great conversations about how to increase engagement, plan fun learning opportunities and continue to build those solid relationships. If we can do this successfully our students will achieve their goals! As always this is a team effort, and we really appreciate all the support at home. Together we can do amazing things for kids!

This week I shared a quote that said, “Forget the mistake, Remember the lesson.” I discussed with them that mistakes are made by all of us no matter how old we get. That mistake does not define us or develop our character. If we learn the lesson the situation or problem teaches us, and we can adjust and different choices the next time we are in similar situations that is growth and what is most important. I strive for our school to be a place of active learning where students can make mistakes, reflect on them, and then turn them into something positive.

Thank you again for being an amazing group of parents and we appreciate being your teammate in education! Have a great week everyone!

Have a great week Silverhawk's,

Aaron Bagwell

STAFF COMPETITION

Today our teachers had some fun before their professional development time. Teachers were given the task to create igloos in small groups. Look at all the fun they had working together. After all that fun, our teachers sat down and discussed the benefits of small group instruction and how they can implement it in their classrooms!

STEP-IT-UP BEGINS!

On Tuesday, we had an assembly for our fundraiser that is going on right now! Step It Up-Arizona came to our school to announce the start of our fundraiser. They did an amazing job getting the kids excited to raise money for our school. As a reminder we are raising money for campus improvements, schoolwide activities, and student & teacher resources! We appreciate everyone who has already donated! Thank you!

BRAG TAGS IN 3RD GRADE

Ms. Burleson's class is having fun creating and showing off their brag tags! Students can earn different brag tags for character traits, academic milestones, and hard work. Students can also earn beads to decorate their chains for every iReady lesson that they pass. Students are working hard towards passing a certain amount of lessons to earn charms! Look at how great their brag tags are looking! Way to go Silverhawks!

5TH GRADE IS GETTING THEIR HEADS IN THE SKY!

5th grade students are having a blast doing a space project in science class. Students are learning about scale and proportion and the affect it has on the pull of gravity. Students had to pick out a celestial object to research and demonstrate their understanding of how big our universe actually is with size comparisons. Look at how amazing these projects are!

AUTHOR'S WALK IN 4TH GRADE

Our 4th graders worked in collaborative groups for an "Author's Walk." They worked on adding details for a summary of their text.

TOYS FOR TOTS PIZZA PARTY!

Last week Ms. Mendiola's class got their pizza party! Students earned this party for being the class that brought in the most toys for the Toys for Tots fundraiser. Look at these happy faces with their pizza. Way to go Silverhawks!
