CHEBUREKI CRISPY GOLDEN RUSSIAN STREET FOOD

Hi guys! My name is Melena and I am a big fan of Russian food. You definitely need to try Chebureki. It is a typical Russian appetizer or main dish - crispy on the outside filled with meat in the inside. Check out my recipe!

INGREDIENTS YOU NEED:

550g flour

2tsp salt

250g hot water

500g minced meat

2Tsp oil

1 pinch of pepper

2 onions

HOW TO MAKE THIS MEAT PIE

Step 1: Mix the 550g flour, the 250g hot water, 1 Tsp salt and 2 Tsp oil with the help of a (hand) mixer until the dough is smooth, elastic and non-tacky.

Step 2 : Chop the 2 onions into small pieces .

Step 3 : Mix the 500g minced meat and the sliced onions until evenly mixed. Season the mixture with 1 tbsp of salt and 1 pinch of pepper.

Step 4: Take the dough out of the bowl and separate it into two pieces. Roll out the dough and cut it into several equally sized pieces.

Step 5: Roll the cut halves into small balls and gently squeeze them flat. Cover the dough with some foil so it doesn‘t dry out. Let it rest for 1 hour.

Step 6:  Roll out the pressed dough into thin circles. Place some of the filling on one half of the uncooked dough in a very thin layer.

Step 7:  Fold the empty half of the dough on the other half. Press the edge firmly with your fingers from left to right in order to seal. To make it look nicer, use a fork or the kitchenware shown in the picture to go around the two edges to seal.

Step 7 : Pour a bit of oil in the frying pan. Heat it up for about 2 minutes. Place the chebureki in the pan. Lower its temperature. Fry chebureki on both sides until nicely and evenly brown - about 5 minutes per each side. Drain on paper towels, let rest for a few minutes.

Serve while still hot. You're gonna love it! Enjoy!
