MPS Early Middle College Progam

What is the Early Middle College Program? The EMC program is a five-year program of study. We work closely with two post-secondary partners, Davenport University and Delta College, to provide students with an opportunity to earn a high school diploma and one or more of the following: 60 transferable credits, an associate degree, or a professional certificate. Almost all expenses are paid for by MPS. For more information, click the button below.

THANK YOU, CPE Staff for making our first Title Night event of the school year, "Pizza, P.J.'s & Pages", such a success!

Northeast unified game

Individual 7th grade students from Northeast Middle School Coach Merchant's P.E. classes paired up/unified with individual students from Mrs. G’s ESA MOCI classroom to form two Northeast Unified Basketball Teams. The teams played each other during half time of multiple girls’ basketball games. These students practiced weekly, hung out, and formed friendships. The Unified team received donations from various sources including LaLonde’s Market, Jason & Tracy Merry of Modern Reality, Sandy Ridge Golf Course, Midland Civitan Club, and Terry Hanley. They also sold t-shirts, and funds raised were used to purchase team and staff shirts and to start an account to save for future uniforms. The photos above are from the Unified game on December 14th, 2022.
Thank you to the Midland High School community that helped sponsor 34 Chemics this holiday season with their generous gift donations through the Adopt-a-Chemic program during the month of December. Similar to the community Sharing Tree program, individuals could support students by choosing items to donate through an electronic gift registry. The Varsity Student Leadership class organized and wrapped the donations. Individuals that donated included students, teachers, student organizations, the MHS Booster Club, family members of Chemics, and members of the greater Midland community. Midland High School is extremely grateful for your generous and heartfelt contributions.
In December, the Midland High School Student Council hosted a trivia night in the MHS Media Center. 18 teams composed of nearly 70 students competed in this entertaining event that featured questions created by a committee of student council students. The third place team was Lucas Berg, Isaac Leasher, Ale Ritter, and Josh Thurlow. The members of the second place team were Brock Adams, Caleb Brown, Finn Knight, and Andrew Steger. And the MHS Trivia Night 2022 champions were Laura Brookens, John Jenkins, Mr. Muller, Jocelyn Stopka. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all who participated!
