2024 - 2025 Performing Arts Scholarship Auditions
All Applicants should watch the following informational video about the Performing Arts Scholarship Program:
(please note: for 2024-2025, the Performing Arts department is only offering scholarships in Instrumental Music, Theatre, Musical Theatre, and Technical Theatre)
Instrumental Music Audition Requirements :
For scholarship consideration, submit an audition video and complete the following:
All Participants:
- Audition video
- Name & contact info
- Photo
- Date of graduation
- School name
- Director's name
- Primary instrument
- Secondary instrument
- Indicate whether you are majoring in music
- Indicate whether you are interested in dormitory consideration
Please follow the specific Audition Video guidelines below:
Woodwind, Brass, String and Percussion instruments
Create a video recording of all audition requirements with the following:
- 7 major scales of your choice (announce each scale)
- 2 musical excerpts of contrasting styles - (no more than 1 minute or so each)
- Musical excerpts should be from the Classical music repertoire
- You can use your mobile phone to record your audition
- Upload your audition video using the web link (button) below:
Rhythm Section instruments (Jazz Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drum set)
Create a video recording of all audition requirements with the following:
- Perform examples of 5 different jazz styles of your choice (indicate the style before performing)
- 1 example of your most outstanding display of musicianship (at least one minute)
- You can use your mobile phone to record your audition
- Upload your audition video using the web link (button) below:

Theatre, Musical Theatre and Technical Theatre Audition Requirements:
All applicants for 2024-2025 Theatre, Musical Theatre, or Technical Theatre Scholarships must complete scholarship application form with the following information:
- Name and contact information
- Photo/Headshot (can be informal snapshot)
- Date of high school graduation
- School name (high school)
- Preferred pronouns
- Date of birth
- Indicate your intended major (here at IRSC)
- Indicate whether you are interested in dormitory consideration
- Audition/Interview Video (see below, only if not attending the live auditions)
All applicants must Audition (or Interview for Tech Theatre) either at the Live Audition sessions or via a Video Submission (submitted on your application form). The Live Auditions will be held Friday, March 29: 4:30 - 6 pm and Saturday, March 30: 10 am - 12:30 pm (please aim for Saturday instead of Friday, as we will likely not hold the Friday block). You only need to attend ONE of these two sessions. They will be held in Room R-106 (the Blackbox Theatre) on the Massey Campus in Fort Pierce.
All auditions (live or video) should consist of the following requirements for each discipline:
Theatre (Acting):
Present a memorized monologue (up to 1 minute in length) from a published play or film.
Musical Theatre:
Present a song excerpt (up to 30 seconds in length) from the musical theatre repertoire (please provide your own backing track/accompaniment for the song, do not sing a capella), followed by a memorized monologue (up to 1 minute in length) from a published play or film.
Technical Theatre:
Prepare a resume and/or portfolio with pictures/samples of your technical theatre and design work. Be prepared to talk about your experience for 2 - 5 minutes (ala a job interview).
