Does God change your physical appearance? Edgar rosas & will thomas

For many years it is said that being in relation with God, or in a religious state can change a persons appearance and attitudes towards the world. Traditionally by being in some religion that have rules to follow, brings a significant number of advantages to a persons life. Such as better mood, greater happiness, less depression, less harmful physical activities (such as drugs) and less addictions to those harmful things.

Researchers have come to conclusion that says being involved in religion people have a more relaxed life and better brain function. Meditation plays a key role in the research (like it is shown in the picture below). Monks brains show through meditation the prefrontal and the parietal cortex are stimulated.

In some religions the burning of chemicals or the smoking of opiates brings out the spiritual experiences in that religion. The chemical messangers serotonin in the brain are in the brains opiate system. Substances such as lsd, psilocybin, and opium can generate spiritual experiences. When people were called in to tell their religious experiences, an amazing thing happened. Activation of the central temporal lobe, ( high level auditory processing) the caudate nucleus, parietal(high level emotion) and the brain stem, temporl( bodily functions, heart rate....) were all very active.

In order to see these areas of the brain, most scientists use spect scans to see the blood flow to areas of the brain. It shows up like a thermal image of the brains different levels.

Many scientists have now come to believe that what is responsible for Athiests and religion is the absence and presence of the God gene. The God gene is called vesicular monoamine transporter 2. Although a hypothesis some genetics experts have come to a conclusion that ship is responsible.

Religion works as a way to give your self in, and work for the good of humanity depending on the religion. It gives people a pourpose to live in life, and by doing so it doesn't just change your perspective byt the way you live your life.
