El Cucuy By VivianA rUANo & Samira arenAs

There was always that old lullaby or saying your parents would tell you about this creature when you would misbehave.

"Duermeté niño/a duermeta ya, si no te duermes el Cucuy vendra "

This famous folktales was told among Latin cultures. It's tale was about a wolf-like demonic clawed creature with red eyes and sharp claws who would take you.

It lingered in streets, under your bed, in forests, or pretty much anywhere you would be. It was always watching you.

If you misbehaved your parents would typically say " Deja que Venda el Cucuy!"

It was scarier than la Chancla. It was something out of this world and most kids who were terrified of him listened to their parents.

He was el Cucuy, he is famously known today and the tales trace is no where to be tracked. We can only conclude that it exists and will be told in the future generations.
