May 2022 Rev-E-News Monthly North Dakota Revenue Report

Individual Income Tax

Individual income tax collections continue to reflect strong economic growth, recovery from the pandemic, and rising wages in the North Dakota labor market. The forecast shown below is adjusted to reflect the impact of the temporary individual income tax credit approved during the November 2021 Special Legislative Session. Although the cost of the tax credit is tracking very close to original estimates, overall income tax collections surpassed the adjusted forecast by over $136 million, or nearly 57%.
