On Saturday March 4th, the Mammoths competed at the National Qualifying Meet, hosted by Tufts University.
Henry Dennen (6) anchoring the Men's Distance Medley Relay
The first event on the track of the day was the Men's Distance Medley and Kolya Markov-Riss led off on the 1200 leg for the Mammoths. Kolya ran a strong leg, making a big push with two laps to go and fought hard all the way to handing the baton to Cody Pierce for the 400 leg.
Cody ran a great leg, getting out hard and inching the Mammoths farther up the field! Cody handed the baton to Ben Davis for the 800 leg and Ben got out hard and gradually moved up the field, fighting hard for every position. Ben handed the baton to Henry Dennen for the 1600 leg and Henry ran a strong leg, running with some of the nation's best runners! Henry ran with a good pack for all eight laps and competed all the way to the finish line, bringing the Mammoths to a fifth place finish and ninth place finish overall in a huge season best time of 10:00!
In the high jump, Cam Heafitz made three good attempts at 1.98 meters (6' 6") and unfortunately wasn't able to clear a bar.
Jordan Harrison running the 60 meter dash
Next on the track was the 60 meter dash, and Jordan Harrison ran a strong race in the prelims, placing fourth in a time of 6.96 seconds and advancing to the finals! In the final, Jordan placed third in a season best time of 6.91 seconds!

Mary Kate McGranahan (3) running the 5,000
With pacing help from teammate Julia Schor, Mary Kate McGranahan competed in the 5,000. Julia helped Mary Kate click off consistent laps and after Julia stepped off the track about half way through the race, Mary Kate picked up the pace and passed runners as she moved up in the field. Mary Kate fought to the finish line and placed fifth in a time of 17:29!
Anaya Thomas and Anastasia Ioppolo both competed in the triple jump and Anaya placed third with a personal best jump of 11.19 meters (36' 8.5") Anastasia placed sixth with a jump of 10.39 meters (34' 1.25")!

Trintje ran hard from the gun and handed off to Casie in second place. Casie ran hard the whole way and brought the Mammoths across the line in second place in a time of 3:56!
The Mammoths had fun competing at the meet and we are so appreciative of everyone's support!
