Newsletter 12th March 2021

Whilst there has been a bubbling of noise in the corridors of school since January with the key worker children in school, it was a real delight to have the volume turned back up to maximum with the return of all the children at Galley Hill this week.

The laughter, the smiles, the friendship renewals and the amazing attitude of all the children this week has been an absolute pleasure.

We continue to ensure that we can go outside as much as possible, a pair of trainers of wellies might be useful to bring in at the minute as well. They can stay in school for the week and become part of the PE kit - in on a Monday and back home on a Friday.

School life

Here is just a snippet of what you have all been getting up to

Star/Writer/Mathematician of the week

Parents' Evening

Parents' Evening will be on the 23rd and 24th March with bookings currently being taken via Parentmail. You will be sent a link closer to the time to access the meeting via Teams.

LETs localise - Easter raffle

As a school, we are hoping to make the library a welcoming and creative environment for all children within school and a space for them to develop their love of reading. To do this, we need your help!

We are on the lookout for any prizes you or friends/relatives may be able to donate; we know the last year has been a struggle for businesses and will be using this as an opportunity to promote them to our school community.

Prizes can be dropped off at the school office any time before Tuesday 23rdMarch ready for the draw.

To buy your tickets, go to: https://www.letslocalise.co.uk/entertainment-details-view?eventId=11260

We also have two campaigns to raise funds to purchase books for the school library. Please do spread the links as far and wide as possible.

EYFS and KS1 Books

KS2 Books

School Clothes

Please can you ensure that names are on all school items. We have quite a few jumpers and cardigans etc at the end of a day with no names on, which makes it tricky to know which one belongs to which child.

Covid

If you are self isolating or have tested positive and are in school with Key Worker Provision please contact us via the e-mail address: covid@galleyhillprimary.co.uk even if this is during half term - this is needed so that we can continue to track and trace over the holiday period.

Workshops for parents and carers

wraparound

If you require wraparound provision from 8th March - please e-mail wraparound@galleyhillprimary.co.uk to book your place for breakfast and afterschool provision.

Uniform

Whilst we still have our uniform expectations, I am also aware that with school being open and shops not fully open yet, getting new unifrom and shoes is not as easy.

If it means that some children may need to wear trainers or jogging bottoms in the till you can get new items, that is absolutely fine for now. The main priority at the minute is ensuring that we have happy, comfortable children.

Finally

Have a well earned rest and fantastic weekend, stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday.
