The Hidden Curriculum
The Hidden Curriculum is based on the frequent questions, suggestions, and needs of previous Rensselaer students. It is an accumulation of knowledge from your SoE Hub Advising team. It is updated annually to meet your current needs!
Consider this your "pocket guide" from The SoE Hub to help you understand your academic requirements and resources. While you will have the support of The SoE Hub all year, you must begin to learn and know your academic requirements, such as graduation curriculum requirements and semesterly deadlines.
Throughout your first year, you will be asked to complete The Hidden Curriculum series to ensure that you have all the information that you need to succeed! Please, be certain that that you prioritize each of the 10 episodes.
The good news is that we break it down for you! The scattered deadlines (between June 2021 and April 2022) ensure that you are looking at the information you need at the exact moment in the semester that you need it.

We may even add supplemental episodes to address any changes in the semester, such as our Online Learning Guide from Fall 2020, and the optional Enjoy Troy episode that helps you find our favorite parts of your new hometown!
You will find all episodes on the SoE Hub website. However, we will not publish the links at the same time! We want you to take this one step at a time.

Complete Episode 2
To complete each episode of The Hidden Curriculum, you will take a quick survery. This allows your Hub Advisor to know if you have completed each required episode and helps to reaffirm the information that we really want you to walk away with.
