JuLy 2022 News Luv 2 play franchise group

Let’s Get Social!

News and Notes

It’s been 1 year since we launched the Luv 2 Play Newsletter. We have spoken to many of you on the benefits of keeping the Luv 2 Play family connected, from Adam in Appleton to some of our newer franchisees in California. There have been some tweaks to it, and we will continue to work to bring you relevant information and that connection each month.

Congrats to Metairie for their grand reopening this month! The path back has not been easy, through a hurricane, a pandemic and supply chain issues, the facility looks amazing and the community of New Orleans has their playground back. Super shout out to Mark and Melissa for their perseverance and dedication to their community.

Revenue Stream Spotlight

Field Trips are what is all about with the return of school across the country. In Appleton, Wisconsin, it is a way of life. Adam and Erika have a great following and work to keep the field trips coming all year long. However as school comes back, this is the opportunity to get out the word on what your playground can offer.

Marketing 101

Get Creative

Sometimes we need to get creative with new fun offerings, limited time add-ons, and party packages to help change it up to make ourselves stand out from the competition. It is vital to keep an eye on your competition and to pivot as needed. We also must be mindful of value add and cost perception from a customer point of view. Loyal, reoccurring customers are the most important aspect of any growing brand.

Appleton is a great case study of pivoting for competition. Their next-door competitors were offering a $10 per month membership, they had to stay competitive, and the classic membership was born. In Surprise, after hearing feedback from toddler parents that they did not need a game card we introduced the “Just Play” Membership in which offers the great monthly play, but no game card or perks except the café discount.

Metairie continues to have creative, fun monthly offerings and characters that have their guests raving and waiting for the next announcement of fun.

We recently added a few party options to the Surprise and Phoenix locations that have caused a bit of a buzz and an increase in bookings. Mini Party It is similar in nature to the Build Your Own but smaller and at a very cost-effective price $99-155. It includes 1 Hour in Party Room, 5 Kids Entry, Snack & Drink. This has been perfect for booking morning parties, but we have also seen a greater average ticket price. By creating this low-cost option, parties add more kids and food equaling some of our larger packages. Plus, it is perfect party for Toddlers.

Mini Private Parties

This party is only available on Sundays 9 – 11 am, our regular Sunday hours are 11am- 7pm, so this allows for a continuity of hours for our customers reducing frustrations, it also allows us to only schedule labor when we need it. This party prices at about half the cost of our regular private events making it a very attractive option and includes 2 Hour in the Private Facility, 15 Kids Entry, Snack & Drink. This has been a great option to offer a private venue while not impacting our regular guests and keeping labor low. This is another party that we have seen unexpected sales of food and drink resulting in an average party booking for this package between $600-$900 because they are still adding pizzas.

What are you doing to get your customers to come back? It is important to reach out to those customers who had an amazing experience to celebrate again. Imagine hosting the first birthday party with all the excitement and joy of new parents and then being selected for the second party and becoming a part of the memories and family tradition. We suggest emailing a friendly reminder of the fun and placing a call to invite them back. Offer a special gift for rebooking- a discount, goodie bags, decorations, a special treat. A second party gives you one more chance to capture parties with their guests as well, because you must be amazing if they are celebrating with again.

We look forward to hearing from you about how you have implemented something fun and new at your facility or helping you to strategize implementation.

Did You Know

Brunch is a staple for many millennials. Our playgrounds have typically not been very strong in offering breakfast type menus. That is about to change. We are testing some breakfast items in our Surprise location. Based on the results, we will be rolling out information in the next newsletter.
