The Australian Government is providing $9.8 million for the Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) trial, to test the effectiveness of providing preschool children with early exposure to a language other than English through online learning programs. This is part of Australian Government’s commitment to reviving language study in this country.

Systematic Mandarin Learning Program
This mandarin program is thematic based and designed for children to learn the phonetic Mandarin sounds (Han Yu Pin Yin), the recognition of Mandarin written (Bi Hua) and the strokes for writing Mandarin characters (Bi Shun).
Mandarin Sounds (Han Yu Pin Yin)
- Thematic based with interesting character;
- Pronunciation of consonants and vowels as well as the combination of both will be practically taught in order for learners the correct sound;
- The 4 key reading tones will be taught at the beginning of the Hanyu Pinyin lessons;
- The correct sound are introduced and reinforced with singing activities;
- Wholesome multimedia program with emphasis on Chinese grammar;
Mandarin written characters (Bi Hua)
Learners will learn to recognize the 31 strokes in Chinese writing, as well as writing them correctly.
Mandarin Characters (Bi Shun)
The sequence of strokes as well as the required number of strokes to make up the various Chinese characters are introduced and emphasized here.
Program Setting
This mandarin program is divided into three levels, i.e. foundation level, level 1 and level 2. Each level contains one software-based computer program and two sets of books and exercise books.
整套中文学习课程包含3套软件，6套课本。课程分为初级，一级和二级，每级分为两个阶段（课本和作业本分上册和下册）
About DingDong Bear
- Location: Sydney CBD Market Street (opposite to QVB).
- Time: Monday to Friday, Morning session: 9.00am-11.00am / 9.30am – 11.30am, Afternoon session: 1.30pm-3.30pm / 2.00pm – 4.00pm (Time slot will be fixed before the start of intake).
- Size of Class: 4-10 children per class.
- Fees: $500 / 10 classes.
