Impact Report for our Loyal Friends January - December 2022

Continuing to fulfill our mission:

To forge partnerships and develop innovative programs to reduce animal shelter admissions and end euthanasia as a form of population control.

2022 focused on long-term strategic goals and minor, yet important projects. When all was said and done, we had attained a huge accomplishment!

IHA Regional Spay and Neuter Clinic

Performed 11,183 surgeries
  • Dog surgeries = 2448
  • Cat surgeries = 8587
  • Bunny surgeries = 148
  • Daily average = 49 patients
  • 47% of our surgeries were for pediatric patients that were under 6 months old

  • Vaccines administered = 16,889
  • Microchips inserted = 2,677
  • Doses of flea/tick preventative applied = 4,497
  • Patients that received nail trims = 2,398

  • Partner organizations that benefitted from our services = 38
  • Shelter and rescue animals that were spayed/neutered at our clinic = 3,334
  • 29% of all surgeries performed were for shelter/rescue animals

IHA's Pet Food Pantry

IHA is the regional ambassador!
  • Participating animal welfare recipient organizations = 78
  • Received 10 semi loads of donated food/supplies to distribute
  • Pounds of pet food/litter/supplies distributed = 253,312
  • Our partners received over 2,300 free Bark beds

  • Total of 6 transport partners
  • Animals transported for spay and neuter services = 857

  • Vaccines that were administered = 316
  • Pets that were spayed or neutered as a result of outreach efforts = 46

  • Average number of web hits per month = 1,210
  • Number of referral programs in Iowa = 29
Even community cats have lazy days!
  • Community cats that were spayed/neutered = 3,825
  • 46% of all cat surgeries were provided for community cats

Painting a Brighter Future Together Campaign

We accomplished our goal to raise one million dollars by December of 2022, enabling us to expand every aspect of our organization in order to continue to meet the needs of our community.
New cabinets and counters were installed in our surgical prep area!
We constructed a pavilion honoring our Legacy Society!
The clinic was complete....

And we celebrated!
