The Baker Blast January 21, 2023

Above: Last week, Mrs. Traver and her Life Skills students participated in their annual Cupcake Wars. During cupcake wars, students are given the task of coming up with a theme and baking cupcakes, making a frosting, and building a display and decorations that clearly represent a theme. The students also are given a secret ingredient that will have to be incorporated on the day of baking. Cupcakes were judged on the following criteria, Display, Use of Special Ingredient, Flavor of the Cupcake, Flavor of the Icing, and Presentation of the Cupcake. This was a fun competition that rewarded the judges with tasty treats.

TSD MLK Day of Service Contest Winner

As a part of the TSD MLK Day of Service, students were invited to participate in a district-wide contest in four areas: essay, poetry, video and art/photography. There were MANY excellent entries, but the judges had to select the top students who best conveyed the theme of Dr. King's message, "The time is always right to do what's right."

One of the winners was Baker's own Kejdi “KD” Shpata, for his artwork (below). We are so proud of his accomplishment and are grateful for his contributions to our district MLK Day of Service program.
