Johnston Community School Friday, 10th June

Welcome Back!

It has been a busy first week in school as pupils have returned to learning. It feels very positive walking around the school as pupils begin to prepare for our end of year events!

Next week, nearly all pupils in years three to six are going to be completing online Welsh Government Assessment Tests. Whilst we feel it is important that we support pupils to achieve academically and make good progress whilst at our school, we in no way feel that theses tests define pupils. All pupils are talented in different ways and as long as pupils give the tests their all, we will always be happy.

Reminders:

  • The last day of term is Thursday 14th July
  • Fruit is for sale every day at 8:40 for 20p.

After an assembly and awards ceremony for around an hour, pupils will be invited to a pizza party disco and games on our school field. This will finish at around 19:00.

There will be no charge for this event. More information will be shared nearer the time.

Attendance

The pandemic has had a significant impact on pupil attendance, but we feel that it is time for us to begin encouraging attendance as much as possible.

A massive "Well Done" to Class Four who were the highest attending this week . Da iawn pawb!

Remember, if any class achieves 100% attendance for an entire week, they win an extra special treat!
