It's the Ice Bucket Challenge - all dressed up!
ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, is a fatal, neurodegenerative illness that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, for which there is currently no known cure.
ABOUT THE GOLDEN WEST CHAPTER
The ALS Association is the only organization fighting ALS on three fronts -- research, care services, and advocacy. The Golden West Chapter serves people with ALS and their families in 31 counties throughout California and the entire state of Hawaii. Fueled by philanthropy and fundraising, everything we do at the Chapter advances the search for effective treatments and cures for ALS.
You are invited
You, other executives and employees from your company or institution are invited to join corporate peers and Walk participants from 31 California counties and the entire state of Hawaii. All of you share the same vision:
to create a world without ALS
Make a splash as you present your commitment to the cause.
Your company CEO or upper-level executive can represent the company, or several employees can participate together!
From wherever on the globe that you and your company decide:
An office building fountain, a swimming pool, a beach, a carnival dunk tank, a fire station, a sprinkler system on a golf course, or anywhere (and anyhow) else you can dream up! (Drought-friendly options welcome, too.)
STEP 1:
Your company commits a minimum of $5,000 to any combination of Walk to Defeat ALS sponsorship and/or company team fundraising. Sponsorship includes additional benefits throughout the year. Register your team and set your official fundraising goal at WALK-tober.org. Just for the commitment, participating companies will receive logo and verbal acknowledgement at The Executive Splash AND….
STEP 2:
Participating Splashers receive up to 60 seconds of live or pre-recorded Zoom time during the Kick-off program. In front of hundreds of viewers, wearing professional or creative attire, you:
a) state your company name
b) share your ALS connection (In Honor, In Memory, In Support)
c) celebrate your Walk commitment (e.g. “We’re committing $2,500 in sponsorship and $2,500 in team fundraising to Defeat ALS!”) and
d) soak yourselves in a creative way! Viewers will vote for "Biggest Splash", "Most Creative," "Best Dressed" and more!
STEP 3:
In the days leading up to the Virtual Golden West Chapter Walk to Defeat ALS (October 23), enjoy additional sponsor benefits and raise team funds and awareness.
STEP 4:
Celebrate success and your impact on Walk Day with your company team, together as a group or online, with thousands of other participants and supporters.
Thank you to these committed Executive Splash Soakees!
