What is Dear Mija?
Welcome to Dear Mija, a mother-daughter book club. Our aim is to foster mother and daughter relationships, through poetry. In doing so, we will celebrate and embrace the journey, transformation, and power of womanhood.
¿QUÉ ES DEAR MIJA?
Bienvenidas a Dear Mija, un círculo de lectores entre madre e hija, donde fomentaremos las relaciones entre madres e hijas por medio de poesía. En el proceso, celebraremos y acogeremos la transformación y el proceso de ser mujer.
How will Dear Mija work?
- Each participant will receive a free copy of the poetry book, Mija, by Kim Guerra, along with a suggested reading schedule and discussion questions.
- On Thursday, April 28, we will gather virtually on Zoom to discuss the themes of the book. (7:00 – 8:00 pm)
- On Thursday, May 5, we will celebrate our reading community at Morton West High School and enjoy more discussion, food, and have fun with a mother-daughter paint night. (6:00 - 8:00 pm)
¿Cómo funcionará?
- Cada participante recibirá una copia gratuita del libro de poesía, Mija, de Kim Guerra, junto con un horario de lectura sugerido y preguntas de discusión.
- El jueves 28 de abril nos reuniremos virtualmente en Zoom para discutir los temas del libro. (7:00 – 8:00 pm)
- El 5 de mayo, celebraremos nuestra comunidad de lectura en la Escuela Secundaria Morton West y disfrutaremos de más discusión, comida y diversión con una noche de pintura entre madre e hija. (6:00 - 8:00 pm)
