The Illuminati By: Sebastian, David, and Tim

Overview

  • Many modern conspiracy theories propose that world events are being controlled and manipulated by a secret society calling itself the Illuminati.
  • Conspiracy theorists have claimed that many notable people were or are members of the Illuminati. Presidents of the United States are a common target for such claims.

Origins

  • Historically, the name usually refers to the Bavarian Illuminati, an Enlightenment-era secret society founded on May 1, 1776.
  • Adam Weishaupt was a professor of Canon Law and practical philosophy at the University of Ingolstadt in Bavaria Germany. He was the only non-clerical professor at the universities.
  • Weishaupt became deeply anti-clerical due to his being ostracized by the clerical staff. He eventually resolved to spreading the ideals of the Enlightenment through some sort of secret society of like-minded individuals.
  • He found Freemasonry to be overly expensive and not open to his ideas so he founded his own secret society: The Illuminatii.
  • The society's goals were to oppose superstition, religious influence, and abuses is state power.

Fall of the bavarian illuminati

  • The final decline of the Illuminati was brought about by the indiscretions of their own members in Bavaria, and especially in Munich.
  • In spite of efforts by their superiors to curb loose talk, politically dangerous boasts of power and criticism of monarchy caused the "secret" order's existence to become common knowledge, along with the names of many important members.
  • There were many members of the illuminati in government. Alarmed, Karl Theodor (the leader of Germany at the time) and his government banned all secret societies including the Illuminati. A government edict dated March 2, 1785 "seems to have been deathblow to the Illuminati in Bavaria".

CURRENT illuminati

  • There are many current theories about the illuminati and there dealings. These include:
  • The New World Order Theory
  • The JFK Assassination Theory
  • The 9-11 Theory

The New World Order Theory

  • The common theme in conspiracy theories about a New World Order is that a secretive power of the world elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world.
  • Many conspiracies point to many leaders of world government as members of the illuminati plotting to make this New World Order occur.

The JFK Assassination Theory

  • There are numerous conspiracy theories surrounding the assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963.
  • These theories propose that the assassination involved many people or organizations.
  • Some conspiracy theories claim that the United States government covered up crucial information in the aftermath of the assassination. No single theory is widely accepted.

The 9/11 Theory

  • 9/11 conspiracy theories are conspiracy theories which attribute the planning and execution of the September 11, 2001 attacks against the United States to parties other than, or in addition to, al-Qaeda, or claim there was advance knowledge of the attacks among high-level government officials.
  • Government investigations and independent reviews have found no evidence for the theories.
  • The most prominent conspiracy theory is that the collapse of the Twin Towers and 7 World Trade Center were the result of a controlled demolition rather than structural failure due to impact and fire.
