1 Theme in 4 Steps
Worship | Remember | Believe | Surrender
Worship: God desires praise to rise up toward him from the ends of the earth. Be a part of this chorus of praise. Lift up your voice declaring his goodness in your life.
Remember
Genesis 11:1-9 - Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.
They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”
But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”
So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. That is why it was called Babel–because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.
Remember: God is intent on obedience to his command to "fill the earth." Gen. 1:28 He also desires our worship to be pure. There should be no idolatry of humans, whether the group or individual.
Believe
Luke 4:5-8 - The devil led him [Jesus] up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. So if you worship me, it will all be yours.”
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’’”
Believe: The temptation to gain power through idolatry (false worship) is strong. Reject the impulse to give glory to anything or anyone but Jesus.
Surrender
Colossians 1:15-17 - He [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Surrender: Worship only Jesus, the Creator. This is the purpose of your life. Align your time, relationships, work and hobbies behind this purpose.
