The Town of Annapolis Royal honoured the 70th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II on Feb. 6, 1952 in royal fashion on June 2, 2022. Jane Nicholson was awarded a Platinum Jubilee medal in the Heritage category.
Town Crier Christine Igot read the Platinum Jubilee proclamation at 2 pm on June 2, 2022. This proclamation was written by Lady Town Crier Jane Smith in England. All Town Criers throughout the United Kingdom and across the Commonwealth countries read the same proclamation at the same time. Christine gave the official Diamond Jubilee proclamation in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia in both of Canada's official languages of English and French.
