World Book Day is a fun and exciting event that takes place every year, usually on the first Thursday in March. It is a celebration of books and reading, and it encourages children to explore the wonderful world of literature.
At Weald Rise Primary School KS1 children dressed up as their favourite character from a book they love. They took part in creative activities to engage with different stories and the characters, including the original story of Shrek which inspired their teachers’ costumes.
Overall, World Book Day is a great opportunity for children to get involved in reading and storytelling, and to celebrate the wonderful world of literature. It is a highlight of our year and this year did not disappoint!
