Star City San Bruno Half Marathon - Training Run this Sunday, 8/13 at Noon!
Coming back for its fifth year on Saturday, October 7th (yes, it's the same day as the Day in the Park) is the Star City San Bruno Half Marathon! To help get you ready for the race, the Excelsior Running Club is organizing a training run on San Bruno Mtn. this Sunday, August 13th! Runners will gather at the finish line, which is the bottom of Quarry Rd., at 12 noon. Distances will range from 6 to 13 miles. Besides taking in the trails, they'll talk about training and racing strategies. The training run is open to everyone, so bring your friends!
A portion of the registration fee ($90, if registered before 9/16) will go straight towards the Brisbane Lions Club, specifically the Lions' Scholarship Fund.
Another way you can support our local Lions' Scholarship Fund is by dropping a donation off during Concerts in the Park while you grab a grilled-up hot dog!
Another area where you can show your love at this Sunday's Concert will be at Tap Truck SF! Leave your beverages at home; instead, enjoy beer, wine, and root beer sold by the Brisbane Chamber of Commerce, served from a VW Bus!
Remember, the last Concert is this Sunday at 2pm with The Houserockers. They're always a fan favorite, so please keep the roadways safe by not parking along the curve at Old County Rd. Thank you!

Save the Date: Pancake Breakfast & Native Plant Sale, 9/10
In just under a month's time, San Bruno Mountain Watch's Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser will be here!
The Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser will be held outdoors at Mission Blue Nursery in Brisbane at the base of San Bruno Mountain. Mission Blue Nursery will be open and selling native plants at the event from 9am to 2pm.
JUHSD Superintendent Community Update
Classes resumed on Wednesday, August 9th for the Jefferson Union High School District, so we'll be including Superintendent Presta's Community Update in any future Baby Blasts! You can also get signed up to receive those weekly during the school year here. This week's update includes first day of school photos, free homework help from PAPER, cafeteria menus for August, and more.
A Few More Spots Remaining for Got Wheels!
At their June 15th City Council Meeting, the Council approved a pilot project to expand membership of Peninsula Family Service's Got Wheels! program to 10 Brisbane residents in need of affordable transportation. This service is for individuals 70 and older, and partners with Serra Yellow Cab to offer six, $5 one-way cab rides per month within the service area: Brisbane, Colma, Daly City, South San Francisco, San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame, Hillsborough, El Granada, Montara, Moss Beach & Half Moon Bay. If you or someone you know could use a Got Wheels! membership, please contact review the program fact sheet and send in a completed application form.
City Manager Recruitment Brochure is Live
Just over 24 hours ago, the recruitment brochure for the City Manager position went live.
We've hired Avery Associates, the Executive Search and Labor Relations consulting firm to recruit and place the next City Manager. Here is the link to the brochure on their website. The final filing date for this position is September 8, 2023.
