Term 1b, week 3

This half term we are doing a local study of the area around our school.

We decided to design a survey so that we could find out about what people think of the area in which they live.

We interviewed Mrs Marshall (who works in the office) as she has lived beside school for over 40 years! We wanted to know how much the area has changed.

We also interviewed our adults at home too.

We collated our findings in a tally chart to begin with.

We then complied our answers and responses in a spreadsheet.

Following this, we presented the data in a range of graphs.

Next week, we are going to analyse our findings and see what people think of the local area.

We have also continued our DT work, designing our junk instruments ready to make them next week for use in our PE lesson.

At Science Club, we did some work on Electricity and were challenged with making different circuits.

We used play dough as a conductor to light an LED bulb.

We also participated in a workshop from the Dogs Trust where we learnt how to be safe around dogs.

We discussed a variety of scenarios and how we would behave safely in each one.

Finally, we ended a very busy week celebrating Children In Need where we came to school dressed up or in non-uniform.

We raised loads of money from very kind donations and arranged the coins in the shape of Pusey Bears.
