Arrive & Welcome
Our driver will meet you at the airport and escort you to Borgo Scopeto (or a similar villa) for an afternoon check-in.
First, enjoy an introductory guided walk in the countryside. Later, get to know the rest of our small group over a welcome aperitif and authentic Tuscan dinner. Settle in for your first night at Borgo Scopeto.
Day 4 San Gimignano & Saffron
Join our guided visit to the medieval jewel of San Gimignano — famed for its stone towers.
Then go behind-the-scenes at a nearby saffron farm, including tastings of this prized spice and local white wine, Vernaccia.
Our dinner tonight will be at local trattoria or winery.
Day 6 Bread Making & Gelato
Another morning walk in the Tuscan countryside, a great way to start your day. Today, we'll have a hands-on bread-making workshop at our Tuscan chef’s home, using ancient grains. We'll join her for a light lunch while enjoying the views of the Chianti countryside.
Dinner tonight is at a local trattoria or winery.
Day 7 Herbs & Pasta
Today we'll visit to a local herb farm for a demonstration about fresh vs. dried herbs. The Chef Andrea will lead us in a hands-on pasta-making class using the flavors of Tuscan aromatic herbs.
Tonight's dinner is a special treat - a festive celebration of the Renaissance cuisine of the Medici’s.
Day 8 Welcome to Florence
Our private driver will escort you to Hotel Brunelleschi (or similar) in the heart of Florence's historic district.
Today, we'll search for the hidden gems in Florence. Your expert local guide will introduce you to artisanal experts in leather-making, jewelry, fine paper, and mosaics among others. This tour will be tailored according to your interests.
We'll end up back at the Brunelleschi for a welcome dinner prepared by the hotel's Michelin-starred chef.
Day 9 Explore Florence
Florence is the city that birthed some of the world’s greatest artists: Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael. These artists are the fuel to the fire that is the Renaissance. Today, you'll explore the city from David to the stunning Duomo, to the Uffizi Gallery, where masterpieces of the Renaissance live. Learn how Florence has influenced the rest of the European world.
Day 10 Rome Food Tour
Enjoy an authentic taste of Roman cuisine with a local gastronomic expert. Exploring one of Rome’s three culinary hotspots, Trastevere, Monti, or Testaccio, clients will sample the city’s most sumptuous offerings, such as supplì, trapizzini, cheese, and meat cuts and more. At the end of this experience, savor a lingering sit-down dinner at one of the Eternal City’s most beloved restaurants.
Day 11 Rome Alone in the Vatican
This most prestigious of Vatican experiences grant you exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the papal collection and Sistine Chapel all after the day’s crowds have dispersed. In the company of an expert art historian, you will enjoy an intimate tour of the Vatican Museums as they are shrouded in silence, discovering secret rooms like the Cabinet of Masks and reaping the rewards of being all alone in the Sistine Chapel.
Day 12 Rome Tivoli
This day transports you from the hustle and bustle of the capital to the tranquil hillside town of Tivoli. You will enjoy a visit to Hadrian’s Villa, an opulent palace built by the eponymous emperor in the 2nd century CE, and splendid 16th-century Villa D’Este. Today, we'll have lunch at one of Tivoli’s most esteemed restaurants.
Day 13 Rome
Garner a unique perspective on ancient Rome through this utterly unique experience. Tailor-made by a specialist historian, this itinerary takes you off the beaten path, bringing you inside the imperial city through the ancient city walls and following in the footsteps of the Caesars visiting Rome’s most iconic attractions.
