Online Safety

We need to create passwords for everything these days and it is important that our children not only understand that they should not share passwords with others but also that they know how to create a ‘strong’ password to keep their information safe. Why not take the opportunity to talk to your child about this? You can learn more here:

Social Media update

There are several different social media platforms that your child might be on or wanting to join such as Instagram and Snapchat. Social Media platforms are used to share pictures and communicate with others. It is important to review each individual platform to see what age your child should be to access them and to set appropriate privacy settings. It is also important to talk to your child about information they should keep private.

Medical appointments during the school day

Students who have a medical appointment and need to leave during the school day must bring proof of the appointment to their Head of Learning to request permission to leave school. HoLs will then make a note in the student's planner. Without HoL approval, the student may not leave the school site.

Please be aware, we will only approve urgent hospital and orthodontic appointments. Heads of Learning will not give permission for students to attend routine dentist, optician or other appointments.

Book Review

The Shining by Stephen King

The shining is a book about a boy named Danny who has something called ‘the shining’. He doesn’t know what it is or why he has it but a man called Richard tells him that he’s very special. Danny and his family go to the overlook hotel as his father (Jack Torrance) is going to work there for the winter. As the weeks go on eerie thing being to happen…

This book was a really good book to get into as there are lots of twists and turns to leave you on the edge of your seats.

Stephen King is a very renowned author, most notably for writing “IT”. The book is very descriptive so you can imagine it very vividly as you read it. You won’t be able to put it down!

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes suspense and supernatural books.
