Although a shorter week, this week saw Rock Kidz come into school leading workshops and songs about 'Taking Bullying Down'. The children all rocked out and had an amazing day whilst understanding the importance of our Values to RESPECT whilst always following the school rules of being, Ready, Respectful and Safe
School life
This week Reception have been talking about where our food comes from and finding out which food we can grow in the UK and which food will only grow in hot countries. The children have also been painting and drawing spring flowers.
The Rock Kidz workshops gave the children an opportunity to learn an original anti-bullying song called 'Taking Bullying Down' - a powerful rock anthem that speaks about how bullying effects others and how we can make a stand against bullying as a school community and as individuals. They talked about the importance of saying no to bullying and choose kindness instead.
We also welcomed pupils from Highcliffe and Laurence Jackson, as they brought the Commonwealth Game Mascot to school in a Sports Partnership Relay between schools in the partnership. Some of the Year 5 children then went on to carry the values to the sports village. It was a wonderful celebration to promote the Commonwealth games and share the values of the sports partnership

sats
As you will be aware, next week Year 6 will be completing the 2022 SATs tests, these are statutory government assessments completed by children in Year 6.
Each morning, next week, all children can arrive at school from 8.30am and enjoy a breakfast snack provided by school prior to completing the test(s) that day. Children will need to enter school via the office.
In 2020 and 2021, KS2 SATs did not take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Primary school SATs results will not be published in national league tables this year to reflect the disruption to children's learning.
Please be aware of what is happening on each day of the test week (see timetable below) and ensure that your child gets plenty of sleep, and a good breakfast, leading up to and during this week.
Most importantly, we want the children to shine and they have shown real maturity leading up to this with a fantastically calm attitude, which is exactly what we love to see.
