On Friday 18th March we had a mufti day and sold red noses to raise money for Comic Relief. A huge thank you to the students and staff who donated. We managed to raise lots of money for a great cause. Well done!

Book Review

The Liars Handbook by Keren David

Plot: River lives alone with his mum until she met Jason – her new boyfriend. In order to find his real dad who had gone missing when he was small he had to lie to his family. He found out that sometimes the truth hurts more than lying.

Characters: My favourite character is Jason. He may have seemed careless and selfish but he saved River and protected him from the danger of frauds. Jason is nice and River sees that at the end.

Opinion: I loved this book. It was emotional, and the moral is that lying is wrong and karma will come to liars. My favourite part was River’s lie – he said that a robber went through Jason’s belongings. And when Kai is given a gun…a fake one. I liked the description given at that setting.

Recommendation: I would recommend this book to a friend. It is a sad, mysterious story with a lot of plot twists that are exciting, and the reader is curious about what will happen next. I read this for hours and finished it in less than 3 days!
