The Golden Grizzlies arrived in Athens Friday and will travel approximately 50 miles West to Loutraki on the Corinthian Sea.

ATHENS -- Oakland took care of business in the opening game of its Greece trip by handing KAE Athens U18 a 92-49 loss on Saturday. As a team, the Golden Grizzlies shot 50 percent (31 of 62).
Tray Maddox Jr. scored a team high 17 points on 4 of 5 shooting from the field and went 7-for-9 from the free throw line. Maddox Jr. also pulled down five rebounds.
Freshman Jackie Harris scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds in his first outing as a Golden Grizzly. Harris was 4-for-6 from beyond the arc.
Xavier Hill-Mais netted 12 points and grabbed six rebounds while transfers Kevin Kangu and Daniel Oladapo each added 10 points in their debuts. Babatunde Sowunmi did not play or travel with the team due to a visa issue.
Up next, Oakland will take on Oiakas Nafplioy Basketball Club on Aug. 25 at 5 a.m. ET.

NAFPLION, Greece -- Xavier Hill-Mais recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds as Oakland men's basketball fell 84-79 in a tightly contested game against Oiakas Nafplioy Basketball Club on Sunday.
Daniel Oladapo led the Golden Grizzlies with 17 points on 7 of 9 shooting and pulled down eight rebounds.
Tray Maddox Jr. added 13 points and four steals while Kevin Kangu scored 10 points.
Defensively, the Golden Grizzlies nabbed 12 steals, but coughed up 19 turnovers and struggled from the three-point line, shooting just 21 percent (5 of 24). Oakland led 69-54 heading into the fourth quarter, but Oiakas Nafplioy closed the final quarter on a 30-10 run.
Oakland will return to action for their third game on Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. ET against Rethymno Cretan Kings in Athens.
Aug. 26-30
The Golden Grizzlies got the week off to tour the country, including four days on the island of Mykonos.
Aug. 31
ATHENS -- Xavier Hill-Mais scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Oakland's third game in Greece, this time against the Cretan Kings, falling 84-56.
Brad Brechting scored 11 points and pulled in six rebounds, while Rashad Williams added 10 points including three of Oakland's five three-pointers on the day.
Oakland will play in its final game of the trip tomorrow against PAO U21 Basketball Club at 3:30 a.m. ET.
Sept. 1
ATHENS -- Yusuf Jihad scored a game high 29 points on 11 of 16 shooting from the floor and grabbed eight rebounds as the Oakland men's basketball team cruised to a 83-58 win over PAO U21 Sunday in their final game in Greece.
Jihad also led all players from the charity stripe, hitting 7 of 10 free throws, and played 39 minutes.
Daniel Oladapo was just shy of a double-double, recording nine points and nine rebounds, while Madison Monroe scored in double figures by netting 13 points. Christopher Gettelfinger had eight points, five rebounds and six assists.
The Golden Grizzlies played primarily newcomers as Xavier Hill-Mais, Brad Brechting and Tray Maddox Jr. did not play. Additionally, Kevin Kangu and Rashad Williams did not play.
Overall, the Golden Grizzlies went 2-2 in their four international games and will begin the return trip back to the United States today.
