The library provides a discovery tool called OneSearch. OneSearch is a single place to search most of the content available from the Baylor Libraries, including:
- The Online Catalog (books, ebooks, media, etc.)
- The Baylor Digital Collections
- BEARdocs (electronic theses and dissertations, honors theses, technical reports, faculty publications, etc.)
- Research Guides
- And...much of the full text content to which the Baylor Libraries subscribe from a wide variety of sources.
Before you jump into OneSearch, you should always have a plan in place. Beginning your search without a strategy or plan can leave you feeling overwhelmed and defeated. So, before you begin using OneSearch (or any other subject specific database), it's best to create a plan of action!
Searching is an iterative cycle. This means that you might need to repeat your search several times before you find exactly what you're looking for. This might mean refining your strategy or making changes along the way.
Below is a sample breakdown for a research question about why college athletes aren't paid.
Don't skip this step! This will provide you with a thought-out list of keywords that you can use in One Search.
