ECHT! is an instrumental, futuristic four-piece band inspired by the concepts absorbed in electronic music and musical production. Deeply influenced by Brussels’s culture and its diversity, ECHT!’s music stands somewhere between electronic, bass music & experimental jazz.
In 2021 ECHT! released their first album ‘INWANE’ on Sdban Ultra. After touring jazz festivals like North Sea Jazz Festival (NL), Jazz à La Villette (FR), Rockit (NL) & alternative/electronic festivals like DOUR (BE), Pukkelpop (BE), Lethargy (CH), they had a crowded show at Ancienne Belgique (Brussels). Their music was aired by Gilles Peterson & Lefto as well as highlighted by major international media such as DJ MAG. Now the band is looking at Eurosonic & the release of its second album in May 2023.

Inspired by the deep grooves and darkish moods of trap & bass music, ECHT! shows its ability to combine heavy beats with sophisticated sounds. Hip-hop & jazz vibes add on some tracks a warmer dimension, revealing the duality between the electronic & the acoustic influences.

Recorded in an empty space in Colfontaine, Hainaut in just three days, ECHT! draw on influences including Electro, Hip-Hop, Psychedelic Groove, Footwork, Trap, Funk and Futuristic Jazz.
Across 8 tracks consumed as one continuous 16-minute mix of swirling beats and edgy offbeat rhythms, ECHT! weave together a musical collage of sound - equal parts acoustic and electric.
LIVE
ECHT! is known for its explosive live performances supported by a heavy light show. Inspired by the DJ set format, the band proceeds from beat to beat, exploring transitions' detour, building a non-stop ascension.

Keeping the lockdown busy
With "BREWmix", ECHT! wants to create a series of live mixes that you can listen to or watch (for a full immersive experience). They picked up some of their favorite beats - from old School Hip-Hop to the latest Belgian release - and combined them with new original music & experimentations.

ABOUT THE BAND
Echt means ‘vrai de vrai’ - ‘true’ or ‘real’ in brusseleir, even though none of the members of the band are originally from Brussels – bassist Federico Pecoraro is from Italy, keyboardist Dorian Dumont is from France and drummer Martin Méreau and guitarist Florent Jeunieaux are both from Mons. They are each individually accomplished musicians, playing jazz, hip-hop, rock or pop with many artist around the world.
