Principal's Message

Lake Pleasant Families,

I hope everyone had a great first week back to school! Personally I was able to introduce myself to all the students and begin to get to know them a little better. I do have to say that you all should be very proud as they are so amazing, kind and fun! This is by far the best part of the job getting to know so many students with such different personalities and strengths.

After the first day, dismissal has been getting better and the staff has communicated that everyone has been so patient and understanding while we work out the kinks in our procedures. We hope to get all 1,200 kids home as quickly and most importantly safely as possible. Thank you for following the staff directions and being patient.

As we head into our first full week of school many of our teachers will begin instruction on our standards. As you know learning can sometimes be messy and failure is part of the process. I let the students know already that my favorite word in the English language is "YET". I have a sign in my office that illustrates that for not only kids but staff and parents as well who might be struggling with something. I am a big believer that a positive growth mindset can help anyone learn a new skill or overcome a challenge. For example..."I don't understand this" can feel like defeat and unmotivating. However, add the word "YET' to that same statement and it just feels different...."I don't understand this YET!" Believe in yourself and you can accomplish any goal.

Have a great week Silverhawks,

Aaron Bagwell

Hot Lunch Reminders

Quick message from our amazing cafeteria staff that hot lunches are no longer free which has been an adjustment. Students will be allowed to charge up to $12 dollars as we do not want any child to go hungry. For your convenience please consider using "MySchoolBucks.com" to set up an account for your child.

If you might be experiencing some hardships please consider filling out the free and reduced lunch application. Many federal funds that are available are based on this number as well so the more accurate this number is the better for our school. This is very confidential so please consider if you feel you might qualify.

LPE Golf Squad is Back!

Golf Squad at Lake Pleasant Elementary is for both new and continuing students and provides weekly opportunities for your child to learn the technical swing mechanics (i.e. putting, chipping, full swing, etc.) as well as the social skills required to enjoy golf, the clubs, and golf course (i.e. vocabulary, etiquette, rules, history, etc.) all under the instruction of an LPGA or PGA Professional. Golf is a very challenging and fun sport that can lead to college scholarships. So start early and start now...boys and girls! Even if your child already plays, it is great to enjoy weekly, convenient lessons from the pro. (Click Here to read more on how and why your child can benefit from continuing professional, golf practice with Golf Squad at your school.)

Below is the Lake Pleasant Elementary specific link with additional info and online registration:

We look forward to building the foundation to enjoy golf for a lifetime together!"

Register My Athlete Information

PUSD is moving to paperless clearance for our athletes. The date for softball tryouts is quickly arriving and all athletes who wish to try out MUST be cleared online. Please click below for directions as to how to get an account set up and which documents you will need. Please take care of this as we cannot allow someone to participate without being cleared.

If you have an athlete that plays a different sport at some point this year, please consider getting them cleared now as once cleared they are good to go! Please contact our Assistant Principal Mrs. Kelly for more information.

Here you will find pictures of kids learning or being recognized along with staff recognitions as well!

Tower Challenge In 6th and 5th Grade PE

Students made a group out of their squad lines and had to write down one thing their whole group had in common with each other on each notecard. They then had to try and build the tallest tower out of the notecards. So the more they had in common the bigger the tower! Looks like we had some fun getting to know each other!

This section will provide any information on upcoming elections. Remember your principal is an old government teacher so make sure you are an active member of our great democracy!
