• Pol Roch of Keiser left his mark on the meet as he set a new NAIA record in the 400 IM. Roch broke the his previous NAIA record of 3:53.47 by swimming 3:52.02 in the finals. Roch edged out Marti Ranea as the Seahawks posted a one-two finish in the event, which contributed to Keiser 497 points.
• The Seahawks also won the 100 fly as Marcel Nagy went 48.09 to capture his second title of the meet. Keiser also took top honors in the 200 medley relay as the recorded a winning time of 1:43.06.
• SCAD (Ga.) is in second after posting one win and three runner-up finishes on the night. Gio Zachar swam 48.56 to win the 100 back for the third consecutive year. Joel Thatcher posted a runner-up finish in the 200 free (1:37.46), while Zachar placed second in the 100 fly (48.78). The Bees also took second in the 200 medley relay (1:43.38).
• Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is sitting in third place of the team standings with 207 points. The Blue Raiders tallied their first individual national champion of the meet as Calvin Coetzee won the 200 free with a time of (1:37.00).
• Paulo Dias Ignacio Jr. of West Virginia Tech touched the wall in 54.00 to win the 100 breast.
• Nic Carrier of College of Idaho notched the final win of the day as he scored 189.60 to win the one-meter dive event.
• Midlands (Neb.) and College of Idaho have recorded 183 and 159 points, respectfully, to round out the top five.
The NAIA Championship will continue Friday, March 6, with the third day of competition. Prelims are slated to begin at 10 a.m. EST, while finals will start at 6 p.m. EST.
