What is the work@life lecture series all about?
It is a speaker series aimed at providing an insightful glimpse into the fluid and often turbulent contours of emerging spaces in the creative workplace and the people who inhabit them.
Who will it feature?
The series features individuals who are setting the compass bearings for the industry and pushing the needle in their respective fields—from the bold visionary to the boots on the ground on the studio floor.
What will it focus on?
Innovation
The series will drive the conversation on innovation as well as the nature, meaning and value of the work that we do and the ways in which we engage with the challenges and opportunities that these evolving spaces embody.
The changing nature of work.
Millennials & Succession
Turbulence induced by rapid innovation is further compounded by millennials entering the workplace with habits of mind and work that are often confounding to, and sometimes at odds with the elder statesmen of their industry. work@life candidly probes these differences—what was once considered life@work by boomers and genx has flipped to the work@life philosophy of the millennials and their comparatively me-centric view of the world and work.
Vision
Ultimately, it is about connecting vision to doing—those seeking careers to those searching for talent and bringing them together over some stimulating conversation.
Making & Doing
What should I bring?
Bring your ideas, a sketchbook, a portfolio case or book, your laptop, tablet or phone but most of all bring yourself, bring a friend and join us for a fun evening of sharing conversation, ideas, passion, business cards and FOOD!
Come join the conversation!
A special thanks to all the volunteers without whose tireless dedication the event would never have seen the light of day.
