What is Evening in the Garden? Evening in the Garden is an annual outdoor event that celebrates the arts and environmental education here at Ford.
What goes on at Evening in the Garden? LOTS! Every child will perform with their grade level on the black top in the back of the school. Every child will also have artwork on display with frames for sale in the gym. The school gardens will be open and available for self-guided tours. There are also other opportunities for students to shine such as student poetry reading and a piano recital.
Where do I park? This event draws a big crowd. Offsite parking is required, and Ford families are shuttled to campus on school buses. On campus parking is limited to handicapped parking and those guest with a special parking pass. No drop-offs are allowed.
Can I bring food? Dinners may be purchased on site or families may bring their dinner with them to enjoy during the event.
What should I bring? Chairs or a blanket to sit on are highly recommended. Bring a blanket to get the best seat. Sunglasses and bottled water are a good idea as well.
How much does it cost? There is no cost unless you choose to purchase your dinner or purchase your child’s framed artwork at the Art Show.
What are the behavior expectations during Evening in the Garden? Please keep your children with you (all playgrounds are closed during the event), students should refrain from running during the event (especially in the gardens), please be respectful of performances taking place throughout the evening.
